These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Hanami iOS application ("the app," "Hanami"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Hanami

Hanami is a habit-tracking app designed to help you reduce reliance on quick dopamine sources through daily rituals, evening check-ins, and visual progress tracking. The app includes an AI assistant feature powered by third-party technology.

Hanami is not a medical or therapeutic tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have concerns about your mental health or addictive behaviors, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use Hanami. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

3. Account

Hanami works without registration: when you first open the app, an account tied to a device identifier is created on our servers so your progress, subscription, and AI message limits can be verified. You may sign in with Apple to link this account to your Apple ID and keep it across devices and reinstalls.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID and any activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Free plan

Hanami offers a free plan with limited features, including a limited number of rituals, goals, and trees as described in the app.

AI Honeymoon

New users receive access to AI features until the end of their first tree cycle (approximately 28–50 days), limited to 30 messages per calendar month. After the first cycle, AI access on the Free plan ends.

Pro subscription

Hanami Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription with monthly and annual plans. Current prices are displayed in the app and on the App Store payment sheet before you subscribe, and may vary by country or region. A free trial may be offered to new subscribers; its length and terms are shown at the point of purchase.

Billing

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's terms for in-app purchases and subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store policies. We do not process refunds directly.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
• Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality.
• Use the AI assistant to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others.
• Exploit bugs or technical errors for unintended advantage.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.

6. AI assistant

The AI assistant is provided for general guidance and reflection related to your habits. It is powered by third-party technology (Anthropic's Claude API).

• AI responses are generated automatically and may not always be accurate or appropriate.
• The AI assistant does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
• Your messages to the AI are transmitted through our servers to the AI provider for processing and are subject to the provider's usage and privacy policies. We do not store the content of your messages; we keep only usage metadata (timestamps and token counts) to enforce message limits.
• AI availability and message limits depend on your plan and may change.

7. Intellectual property

All content, design, illustrations, and code in Hanami are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without prior written permission.

The tree artwork, interface design, and written content are protected by copyright.

8. User data

Your habit data — rituals, check-ins, streaks, and tree progress — is stored locally on your device. Your account is stored on our servers: a device identifier, a reference to your Apple ID, your email and name (if you signed in with Apple), your onboarding responses, subscription status, and AI usage metadata. Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account. You can delete your account in the app's settings: it is deactivated immediately and its data is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

You are responsible for backing up your device. If you delete the app or lose your device, locally stored data cannot be recovered.

9. Disclaimers

Hanami is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• The AI assistant will provide accurate or helpful responses.
• Using the app will produce any specific outcome related to your habits or well-being.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.

Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time, at our sole discretion, without your prior consent. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; if you do not agree with the updated Terms, stop using the app and delete your account.

12. Termination

You may stop using Hanami at any time by deleting your account and the app, and canceling any active subscription.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Armenia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app will be resolved in the courts of the Republic of Armenia.
